Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Justice sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.

 is one arm of CSNSW that supervises offenders who are subject to community-based orders imposed by the courts or State Parole Authority. Community Corrections supervise offenders on various community-based supervision orders and aims to reduce the impact of crime on the community by effectively case managing offenders to achieve resettlement and successful order completion.

About the role:

  • Provide professional support, mentoring and leadership to a team of Community Corrections Officers (CCOs) to maintain a high standard of professional service delivery that is compliant with legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive team with positive and transparent culture focussed on practice excellence.
  • Guide and support team members with differing levels of experience and technical competence to enable their development. 
  • Assess risk and prioritise demands within available resources to ensure the quality of interventions are maintained at a high standard, and resources are targeted to where they will have the greatest impact.
  • Work as part of a leadership team to identify systemic areas for development and implement and monitor activities to ensure team members’ quality work practices.
