The Marketing & Events Coordinator supports the wider Marketing team in various marketing, events, planning and administration tasks in line with the overall business objectives for the Australian market. This will include supporting the marketing team with specific campaigns, projects and key events that inspire both riders and retailers.



  • Assist the Marketing team in executing specific marketing initiatives across the annual calendar
  • Provide general administration support for the Marketing team including and not limited to: Product inventory managementSports Marketing admin supportCompiling campaign reportsOther ad-hoc requirements
  • Assist with the distribution of resources to our retailers
  • Assist in content creation projects, i.e. photography shoots
  • Develop and maintain relationships with retailers and other key stakeholders across the business
  • Conducting market analysis and sourcing rider feedback
  • Assist in the review, edit and publishing of rider-facing content on specialized.com using WCMS tools, for example weekly home page refresh and building story pages
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team to plan, source information, stories and imagery to build out content to be used across digital touchpoints
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to execute on marketing aspects of the Retail Ambassador program including managing retailer and ambassador communications, product support and project management on an ongoing process
  • Assist and provide back-up support with social media (Instagram and facebook) engagement including commenting, enquiries and posting when required and as briefed
  • Event Coordination

  • Lead the planning and execution of both minor and major Specialized events across Australia. Including but not limited to: Key road, mountain and e-bike eventsKey product launch eventsRetailer events and summitsRetailer roundtable meetingsInternal business calendar eventsSmaller ad-hoc events
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Integrated Marketplace Manager to: Set individual events budgets: Develop and oversee a strategy to ensure the events are delivered to a yearly budget.Help to set key success metrics and establishment of tracking methods/toolsContinuously measure the financial success and results of events and initiatives based on the success metrics
  • Coordinate and manage the following duties for all key events, including: Risk Assessment PlansCritical Path DocumentationFlightsAccommodationTransfersTicketingCateringPrepare and distribute event reports at the conclusion of each event
  • Support planning and key logistics for Demo Events
  • Work with Specialized retailers to support local events and community activities
  • Manage and maintain the Events sub-inventory
  • Be the source of knowledge within the business on Event Risk Management

  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and knowledgeable within the digital space
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning and coordination skills
  • Ability to delegate, brief and lead a project based/event-based team on budget and in a timely manner
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Enjoy working with budgets and financially savvy
  • Ability to train event staff to ensure excellent customer service
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain level-headed in demanding times
  • Have sports industry experience both at retail and industry levels and ideally be a cycling enthusiast
  • Able and willing to travel (both during the working week and on weekends)
  • Have an interest in the Cycling industry or passionate about a healthy and active lifestyle

  • Tertiary Qualification in Marketing or Events Management, with minimum 1-2 years’ experience
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the events management industry and a proven background in successfully servicing large diverse groups
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Willing to obtain through work: Responsible Service of Alcohol CertificateFirst Aid CertificationFood Handling certificateWorking with Children Check
