Randstad is currently partnering with a federal government department that is looking for an experienced Digital Communications Manager to manage a team of 4 highly creative individuals. Whilst the primary requirement for the role will be to lead the team, bringing your broad and creative expertise across web, social media, user experience, and service design, you will also assist the team at times on the communications side, creating of digital content from time to time. The role requires a unique blend of experience across both management and communications is essential for this role.

In order to be successful in this role, candidates will be required to complete a police check and be Australian Citizens in order to apply for this role. As this program area can be quite sensitive in nature and has many stakeholders, previous Government experience is also required.

The role will be made up of the following tasks and responsibilities:

General Responsibilities

  • Lead the digital communication team
  • Assist in the creation of digital content.
  • Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions.
  • Digital Communications

  • Oversee the work of the Digital Communications Team, ensuring all activities align with the strategic objectives and projects.
  • Input into communication strategies, including but not limited to; market research and analysis; website and social media; and stakeholder engagement.
  • Plan and enact strategic approaches to issues management and/or complex communication issues for Open Arms.
  • Assist in the drafting and development of communications products, as required.
  • Manage the creation of social media content that aligns with Arms projects and set the strategic direction
  • Plan, enact and develop an approach for the updating of current digital content and Apps to Digital Transformation Agency Standard
  • Management and Leadership

  • Assist with budget forecasting for the Communications program, and manage digital-related procurement within the Digital Communications Team.
  • Manage and mentor team of communications team members, identifying and encouraging development and learning opportunities to support communications objectives.
  • The role is paying an attractive hourly rate of $70 - $80 an hour + 9.5% superannuation depending on experience.
