Job Description & Summary

Join PwC's Consulting Analytics team in Sydney as a Government sector focused Director to work collaboratively with our broader Consulting capability to deliver data backed, insight led solutions for our clients’ complex problems.

The role will operate from Sydney, and can involve work with clients from across Australia.

What will you create?

You will focus on building trusted client relationships and creating innovative, analytical solutions to provide insight and values to clients making critical business decisions.

More broadly at PwC, you’ll help Australian businesses, governments and not-for-profits create value and improve the way they work. From digitising healthcare, to creating smarter cities or driving innovation with our clients, together we build trust in society and solve important problems.

Consulting brings this to life by helping clients improve the way they operate, reduce costs, manage risks, leverage talent, or fundamentally change the way they do business. Your work here will help organisations of all shapes and sizes work smarter and grow faster.

You will work collaboratively with our broader Consulting teams on important client projects, or sometimes directly with clients on more specialist or technical analytics based assignments. We view analytics with a 'business' lens and appreciate that technology is just one equally important component of sustainable performance along with strategy, organisation, people, culture and process.

As a Director in our Analytics team your impact will be seen by:

  • Working closely with the Partners and account teams across our Government and Public Sector clients, in developing and maintaining key client relationships, generating and driving new opportunities, shaping propositions for clients, writing proposal responses, structuring delivery engagements and overseeing projects and programmes for multiple client projects, from initiation through to successful client outcomes

  • Leading discussions with our clients on the opportunities provided by data analytics, and the innovation that it can bring, leveraging your extensive experience in the application of analytics to solve complex problems and transform organisations

  • Always taking a business led approach to analytics, blending your commercial understanding with your analytical experience and consulting mindset to ensure that the insight we develop can truly be used by our clients to add value to their organisation

  • Building trusted relationships with client executives and senior management through excellence & innovation in analytics-backed project delivery, identifying opportunities to help solve their most complex business issues from strategy to execution

  • Driving the scoping, design, build and deliver innovative analytics-backed solutions for our large Federal, State and Local Government and Public Sector clients, helping them drive propositions around customer centricity, productivity, supply chain, workforce, environment, infrastructure and cities

  • Quickly building and energising, cross competency teams for client project delivery, drawing on multiple skill sets to deliver client value in a highly collaborative, agile and accelerated manner using a broad range of different analytical techniques and technologies

  • Supporting growth of our team through a depth of personal hands-on analytical expertise and understanding, but also experience, energy and passion in coaching and supporting high performing analytical teams.

About you

You have a background and a track record of success in working with clients to shape and deliver solutions backed by analytics. You are fluent in the applications and benefits that analytics and innovation can bring and how to communicate this with both client executives and analytics practitioners. You have the ability to build strong and meaningful client relationships, within their team and across PwC, to help drive business growth & revenue.

You have experience of working in a fast moving, client focused and project based delivery organisation - this may include experience working within a consulting firm, analytics boutique or corporate environment with a strong analytically focused role. You have extensive experience developing analytical solutions using both traditional and cloud based technologies, together with a solid understanding and experience of the application of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics techniques.

You will most likely have a hands on analytical background, developed in a consultative environment and be able to maintain a strategic perspective while also being able to delve into a detailed solution level as needed with your team or clients. You will have the ability to elicit client commercial and technical objectives from stakeholders and translate those into a solution design. You will have demonstrated skills in business development, building personal networks, hypothesis-based problem solving and the ability to execute actions effectively.

You will have strong communication, presentation, project management and time-management skills. You will have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. You have both enthusiasm and drive to be a leader in our team, helping shape and develop its future.

We have particular interest in experience in transport, planning, infrastructure, health and customer service related departments, other relevant broader experience is also of interest and welcome.

You will ideally have extensive experience of business development, proposition & proposal development, and structuring activities in a programmatic and agile or systematic way across the full delivery lifecycle.

You are passionate about being at the forefront of change, you’re ready to help our Consulting team deliver practical insight that speaks straight to the heart of client business issues and deliver innovative results.

You are highly collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment.
