The International Freight Assistance Mechanism (IFAM) is an initiative that forms part of the broader Australian Government’s COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Package. Its goal is to help restore airfreight capacity through the COVID-19 pandemic, including airfreight supply for Australian agricultural exporters to key overseas markets, as well as return flights bringing back vital medical supplies, medicines and equipment of national interest. Austrade is the lead agency for this mechanism working with a number of federal government departments.

The Compliance Manager is part of the IFAM Commercial and Finance team responsible for delivering the IFAM grants program.

This employment opportunity is for a period of 6 months and may be extended to 12 months.

Responsibility for the development and delivery of the IFAM compliance plan with a focus on identified key risks associated with the management of the IFAM grant program

Assess IFAM grant applications and payment requests, ensuring grant recipients are compliant with the conditions included in the IFAM grant agreement.

Grant recipient engagement – engage with grant recipients to request documentation as evidence of compliance with their IFAM grant application and highlight any areas of compliance concern and actions to resolve directly with grant recipient.

Use resources to confirm grant compliance including Airway Bills, Australian Border Force Customs data and other relevant freight and airline information.

Collaborate with the Commercial and Financial Team and the Data Cluster Team to develop reports in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

Provide advice on emerging compliance issues and prepare briefing information for inclusion in executive updates.

Prepare a weekly report to the Commercial and Financial Team detailing compliance activities and results, including key areas of focus, compliance issues identified and recommendations to improve compliance (mitigation and management activities).
