Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, based at 621 Hunter Street Newcastle, are seeking a Registered Nurse that is experienced in providing mental health interventions to join their passionate, multidisciplinary team on a permanent full-time basis. 

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a specialty service of the Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Services. It provides assessment and treatment for young people up to 17 years old, or who are attending school, and are experiencing complex andor severe mental health problems. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive and family inclusive mental health assessment, care planning, and treatment interventions for young people with significant mental health difficulties. You will work collaboratively with young people, their families or caregivers, other service providers, and team colleagues to provide person centered mental health interventions. The multidisciplinary team is supported through a robust clinical governance structure which promotes joint team clinical decision making.

Our successful candidate will ideally have experience working with children, young people and families providing a good foundation for this role however, this not essential. Clinical and profession support is available through the Team Clinical Leader, Service Manager and senior nursing colleagues. A comprehensive orientation and induction process is provided as well as opportunities for clinical supervision and professional development.
