Hanson is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional  Maintenance Planner,  based in Wetherill Park, NSW. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner will efficiently plan and schedule activities to prevent or predict failures and keep assets and operations within design specifications.

The ideal candidate will need to be trade qualified as either an Electrician, Fitter or Boilermaker – as part of the role will entail being on the tools with the small team you would be working with.

The role will see you working approximately 3 days per week in the Wetherill workshop – and the other two days on the road in the Sydney metro area.


In your role, you will:

  • Engage and maintain effective relationships with current and potential customers to meet business and sales targets
  • Manage all the maintenance systems (primarily SAP), including master data (functional locations, equipment master records) and ensure this information is kept up to date
  • Utilise plant / maintenance information to generate notifications within the planning/scheduling system
  • Be responsible for the creation of work orders and their prioritisation in alignment with safety and commercial risks to the business
  • Ensure purchase orders are raised, released and receipted to the satisfaction of purchase to pay requirements
  • Manage and contribute to the quality control of production, plant maintenance, as well as administrative duties
  • Maintain and drive sound working knowledge of health and safety principles, legislation, standards and codes of practices
  • Coordination of general yard, plant housekeeping and maintenance
  • Communication with plant manager of daily shift happenings
  • Review of upcoming concrete orders and deliveries
  • Accurate batching of orders to specified mix designs utilising the Commandbatch program and the docket dispatch system
  • Provide monthly reports and updates of maintenance schedules, costs, variance to plan etc


    • This role is a great fit for you, if you have a:

  • Trade qualified – as either an Electrician, Fitter or Boilermaker – essential
  • SAPPM system knowledge -essential
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and understand the impacts to the social and physical environment
  • Motivation to lead by example with a proactive approach to housekeeping
  • High level of resilience and adaptability to changing situations while maintaining a ‘team player’ mentality.
  • Positive presence in building strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills along with sound computer literacy
