About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking motivated and experienced Cook to join our team at Cruise Whitsundays on a casual basis at Cruise Café & Bar, Port of Airlie Terminal . At this stage, applicants must have availability to work rostered shifts will from 3:30 pm until Midnight. Casual Kitchen Attendant opportunities are also available with an immediate or early Jan start.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Cook will provide support and assistance to the Chef and wider Food & Beverage team, where required, whilst performing day-to-day kitchen operations.

Some responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Preparation of menu, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction;
  • Overseeing hygiene, cleanliness and general safety in food preparation areas;
  • Cleaning kitchen, storerooms and kitchenware; and
  • Assisting with delivery of stores and stock ordering.

    Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 1-years' experience in a similar Cook/Chef role
  • Hold relevant qualifications, such as Commerical Cookery, RSA, Food Handling etc.
  • Have the necessary working entitlements to work in Australia, with a minimum 6-month commitment
  • Be highly self-motivated, with great energy - A real multi-tasker!
  • Have exceptional teamwork and leadership skills, with a great eye for detail
  • Demonstrate excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Have proven ability to work autonomously and part of a team
  • Be able to work flexible hours including weekends and extended hours
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Impeccable personal integrity

    • Applicants with previous Cookery and/or marine experience will be highly regarded.
