Salary : $26.24 - $26.53 per hr + 25% casual loading - Casual (up to 24/1/2022) - WHA2

You will contribute to the delivery of a timely, efficient and effective catering service within the Port Pirie Regional Health Service. Your duties will encompass the preparation, service and delivery of food to clients. You will undertake food preparation of vegetables, meat, salads, sandwiches and toast and prepare food trays and trolleys for service. As well as operating kitchen equipment and utensils, you will assist with serving meals and tea and coffee making. It will be part of your responsibility to ensure a clean and tidy work area and to wash utensils and kitchen equipment. With some prior experience in providing a catering service, you will have basic knowledge of Food Safety Standards and Infection Control Standards. With a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, you will be able to work alone or within a team environment, and work within set timeframes. You will be willing to provide assistance and cooperation to other staff, and perform under general direction or work under limited supervision. At all times you will be committed to using discretion and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Port Pirie Regional Health Service has 95 beds available for people with an acute medical condition, adults and children, surgical, obstetric, palliative care and care for people over 75 years of age. High level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances will complement your ability to work in various settings and relate to all levels of staff. Alongside your previous experience and knowledge of Infection Control principles, you must have a strong commitment to quality and customer service. In addition, it is essential that you possess effective written, verbal and numeracy skills. 

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
