Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until April 2022 Hospital Scientist - Paediatric Sleep Unit The John Hunter Children’s Hospital Paediatric Sleep Lab is the only Public Paediatric sleep lab located between Sydney and Brisbane and therefore caters to a large number of children experiencing sleep disorders in the hunter region and beyond. We aim to provide accurate and timely diagnosis of sleep disorders in children and offer a variety of different sleep studies, including diagnostic and treatment studies (ie. Positive Airway Pressure and Oxygen titrations). About the role:
The role will see you performing routine diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies while analysing and reporting on these studies. This position requires you to interact with children and their parents in an age appropriate, professional and confident manner. You would be required to be flexible with your working hours and willingable to work a variety of shifts, though predominately night shifts. In addition there are requirements to fill in for staff shortages where needed.
About you:
The team is looking for someone with an appropriate hospital science degree to work as a sleep scientist in our lab which operates from Monday-Thursday inclusive. You will be a quick learner, and a reliable person with the ability to work independently, as well part of an integrated team. You are task oriented individual who possess excellent oral and written communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
