    ABOUT MUSEUMS VICTORIA:

    Museums Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.

    The primary responsibility of the Learning Facilitator is to facilitate learning programs, workshops and events to support the delivery of exceptional education and public programs—that meaningfully engage our diverse education and public audiences with the unique mission and vision of our museums.

    Some of the key duties include:

    • Facilitate learning programs, workshops or shows for education booked groups and the general public, using professional experience and judgement to optimise learning outcomes for diverse audiences at Melbourne Museum. This role may also support program delivery and administration across Scienceworks, Immigration Museum and Outreach programs
    • Use contemporary digital tools and technologies to support and deliver engaging educational experiences, including trouble shoot and device management.
    • Support and supervise new staff and volunteers with program and procedure familiarisation, including peer to peer learning, communication guidance and procedural training.
    • Set up and pack up programs, workshops and activities; and assist in maintaining materials and resources.

    The successful applicant will have:

    • Demonstrable experience in the facilitation of learning programs, workshops or shows to diverse audiences, with the ability to respond to audience needs.
    • Well-developed communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
    • Awareness of current education and learning techniques for diverse audiences, including needs of primary and secondary school audiences.
    • Experience in program and event administration.


    OTHER INFORMATION

    This is a Part Time (0.5 FTE) Parental Leave cover contract. The salary on offer is $65,409 based of grade (pro rata) + 11% superannuation.
