    A full-time permanent role in Gippsland, country VIC for a well established locally owned accounting firm with 5 decades in the industry, specialising in Accounting, Taxation and Management consulting. For an experienced Australian public practice Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Taxation consultant to provide Bookkeeping services, Taxation planning, Auditing, Budgeting and monitoring monthly cashflow to businesses not only in Gippsland but Victoria wide.

    A normal day includes

    • Managing tax compliance:
      • Reviewing and analysing financial documents and records to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
      • Preparing and filing tax returns for clients.
      • Identifying potential tax deductions or credits for clients.
      • Staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and advising clients accordingly.
    • Client communication and confidentiality:
      • Interacting with clients to understand their financial goals and needs.
      • Providing clear and concise explanations of complex financial matters to clients.
      • Demonstrating professionalism and maintaining strict client confidentiality.
    • Supervision and team collaboration:
      • Overseeing a client base, which involves managing their financial accounts and providing guidance on financial decisions.
      • Supervising junior accountants and bookkeepers, providing feedback and support when needed.
      • Collaborating with colleagues and team members to ensure smooth workflow and effective completion of tasks.
    • Self-motivation and independent work:
      • Taking initiative and managing workload independently.
      • Conducting research and staying updated on accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends.
      • Planning and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
      • Continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

    You will need

    • An Accounting degree is required
    • 5+ years related public practical experience
    • Excellent Excel skills
    • Excellent with MYOB & QuickBooks
    • Experienced utilising large ERP accounting systems
    • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
    • Strong organisational skills
    • Good attention to detail
