    About the role:

    WorkPac are seeking a Project Lead to join our team in Paraburdoo. As the Project Lead, you will be instrumental in upholding Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) values while driving successful project execution. With a strong background in project management and a Mechanical Engineering degree, you will oversee scoping, planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget. Your leadership will foster positive communication, collaboration, and improvement, driving projects to new heights of success.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Uphold Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) Values- Care, Courage, Curiosity
    • Have a strong knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation)
    • Prepare and review estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and execution plans
    • Monitor project progress against budget and forecasted schedule
    • Draft blue sheets and capital expenditure applications (CEAs)
    • Maintain positive, effective, and on-going communications between key stakeholders and contract partners
    • Foster strong relationships with all partners in the project stages
    • Undertake quality Leadership in Field activities to review current activities, practices and processes, and identifying any gaps for improvement

    Skills and Experience:

    • Mechanical Engineering degree
    • Effective time management skills
    • Good understanding of Project Management Principals
    • Strong people skills, with the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary and diverse team
    • Effective communicator and influencer
    • Be able to interpret and implement systems, processes and procedures
    • Be able to work effectively in changing environments
    • Problem solve complex situations
    • Conflict resolution
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships
    • Fixed Plant knowledge
    • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Project)
    • Have a good understanding in the use of SAP
    • Capable of writing conclusive reports and articulating project benefits and challenges
    • Heavy industry (Non-essential)
