    Your Opportunity

    Due to an increase in funding Mission Australia are excited to be able to recruit Specialist Workers for Children and Young People in Walgett.

    The Specialist Workers for Children and Young People (SWCYP) will work with children and young people in our Safe Houses who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and who have been impacted by Domestic and Family Violence to provide direct trauma informed family centered and culturally appropriate service.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • Providing ongoing case management
    • Referrals to other appropriate services
    • Coordinate and facilitation of a range of individual and group support programs.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including service partners.
    • Ensure that all required internal and external client paperwork is completed and copies kept on file.
    • Complete a range of other administrative duties for the efficient running of the service.

    Requirements for Success:

    • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and or relevant experience in Early Childhood
    • Knowledge and experience working with client issues relating to homelessness including domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health etc.
    • Computer literate in a windows environment.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Current NSW Driver's License.
    • Senior First Aid Certificate

    Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
