    About the role

    Applications are welcome from new Graduates who are, or will be, eligible for enrolment in the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program by July 2024. Grampians Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (GMHWS) is committed to providing opportunities for early career clinicians to consolidate and build on their theoretical and practical knowledge within a structured, supportive environment.

    The clinical psychology registrar position is specifically designed to support recently graduated psychologists to successfully transition to practice and be supported to work towards achieving endorsement in Clinical Psychology. The position is supported by a newly developed program facilitated by psychology educators with a strong focus on growth learning, reflective practice, supervision and self-care. The position is embedded in clinical settings, working alongside experienced psychologists, to enable learning and development in real life practice related content in a positive and supported environment.

    Psychology Registrars will be provided with rotations across diverse settings in the mental health service. These rotations will facilitate the registrar to develop the competencies required for endorsement and the skills, knowledge and attributes required to provide recovery-focused mental health care for consumers, and their families, carers and supporters.

    The GMHWS Graduate Program is guided by the Department of Health, Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program Package and incorporates eight hours of quarantined learning/professional development time each week.

    Key Responsibilities

    You will:

  • Participate in psychology specific clinical activities such as comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and evidence-based, recovery-oriented treatment.
  • Clinically manage a caseload of clients appropriate for a Registrar level, within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Actively participate in the GMHWS Allied Health Graduate Program and additional training, professional development and education programs.
  • Skills and experience

    You will have:

  • AHPRA registration as a Psychologist by commencement date (mid 2024).
  • A Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course.
  • Eligible for enrolment in the Clinical Psychology registrar program.
  • Appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of contemporary evidence-based and best practice interventions / treatments
