    The Role

    An exciting opportunity has become available for a Compliance Officer to join this successful group. As part of the legal team, you will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and be responsible for ensuring the group adheres to all relevant regulations and company policies.

     

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Developing a Compliance Framework: Work with the Chief Legal Officer to implement a comprehensive compliance framework that oversees contract management, supplier due diligence, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Maintaining Regulatory Adherence: Monitor and ensure adherence to mandatory reporting requirements.
    • Supplier Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential suppliers to mitigate potential risks.
    • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks to protect the company's interests.
    • Staying Up-to-Date: Maintain knowledge of relevant Australian building codes, industry standards, and procurement regulations.
    • Collaboration: Work with the procurement team to ensure all purchases comply with established standards.
    • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on procurement compliance procedures.
    • Template Agreements: Maintain, update, and roll out template agreements in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
    • CORporate Secretarial Matters: Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team and external law firms regarding corporate secretarial matters.
    • Document Review and Drafting: Review, draft, and/or develop non-complex legal documents (e.g., Non-Disclosure Agreements) and communications independently.
    • Research: Independently handle legal and/or factual research as required.

     

    About You

    We are looking for an individual with 3 years or more experience in a compliance role. A strong understanding of compliance regulations and best practices is essential, including ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification, and Climate-related financial disclosures. Strong written and oral communication skills are also required, as well as the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with the business and cross-functional teams. Legal qualifications are preferred.
