    The Opportunity:

    In the position of Associate Director of Student Engagement, Success, and Wellbeing, you will lead our efforts in creating and enabling an enriching student experience. With a focus on empowerment and inclusivity, you'll lead passionate teams and collaborate with colleagues across UniSC to increase student engagement, success and wellbeing and ensure accessibility and equity for all. You'll have the opportunity to shape sector-leading practices and will provide expert advice and strategic insights to senior management, executive members, and university partners. You will also oversee service excellence across a range of activities aimed at enhancing student wellbeing, fostering engagement, and promoting student success. This includes but is not limited to student success, academic skills, and careers advising; student partnerships and engagement; and safety, wellbeing, and accessibility services. You will also develop and nurture strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders internally and externally.

    Please note, this position will require travel between campuses. If the appointee elects to be based at UniSC Moreton Bay, regular travel will be required to our Sunshine Coast campus.

    You will

    • take the lead in developing exceptional student engagement, success, and wellbeing services and strategies at UniSC,
    • collaborate internally and externally to drive initiatives that enhance student engagement, success, and retention across the university; and
    • cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, agility, and service excellence.

    About you

Your credibility and expertise allow you to provide valuable guidance to key stakeholders on strategic student engagement, success, and wellbeing initiatives. You are well connected with peers, informed about sector developments, and keep abreast of contemporary research and best practice in your field.

    As a senior member of our Student Services leadership team, you'll hold a pivotal role in shaping the strategic trajectory of our institution. Our sector and our university are dynamic, and you will demonstrate an ability to drive and lead change. Your leadership approach is characterised by inclusivity, empowerment, and dedication to continuous improvement. In this capacity, you're a catalyst for positive transformation both for those you lead, and the students you serve.

    You will possess:

    • exceptional leadership capabilities, showcasing a track record of leading organisational change initiatives and fostering a collaborative work environment that ignites team engagement;
    • senior-level experience in delivering and enhancing a range of student services, ideally with a focus on student engagement, success, wellbeing, safety, accessibility support, student partnerships, and employability;
    • demonstrated success in developing policies, procedures, action plans and processes pertaining to student services, and of driving continuous improvement based on contemporary research, professional standards, and best practices;
    • outstanding communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, evidenced by the ability to offer credible and expert advice, produce high-quality reports, and secure cooperation from internal and external stakeholders across all levels;
    • skilled in organisational management; proactively delivering high level work, adept at handling various services and priorities simultaneously, while leading cross-functional projects; and
    • understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector and the future agenda for change, and contemporary research related to student engagement, success, and wellbeing.
