The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer with a specialisation in Industrial Design to join our dynamic team and contribute to the academic and research activities of the Department of Design. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and coordinate the Industrial Design program, working closely with students and contributing to vital research projects within the Department of Design. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Design (Education), you will work in a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and excellence.

Industrial Design plays a crucial role in shaping our future, emphasising human-centered design solutions that impact both national and global wellbeing and competitiveness. You'll use your expertise in materials, manufacturing, and user-centric design to collaborate within our academic and practitioner community, advancing technical design scholarship and innovative research to address the evolving challenges in the field.

About you

We are seeking someone who can evidence their strong track record of practice and research in the field of Industrial Design with a doctoral or master's qualification in Industrial Design or a related discipline.

Your passion for engaging in scholarly and research activities, ability to motivate and educate diverse audiences, and dedication to working cooperatively with colleagues will make you a valuable addition to our team.
