    Wagga Wagga City Council is currently seeking an experienced individual, ideally with a background in Local Government civil operations and construction, to work as part of the Subdivisions Team to administer residential and non-residential activities associated with development activities as defined within Council's Road Reserves Policy.

    Your new role:
    Reporting to the Development and Subdivisions Engineer Coordinator, this position will take a lead on undertaking the assessment of applications and consents for development related works in local road reserves and monitoring of works to ensure compliance with Council's policies and procedures.

    Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

    • Undertake monitoring activities including conducting inspections, assessing applications, and issuing consents for development related activities in Council's Road Reserves.
    • Process and administer Section 138 permits (Roads Act 1993), Land Access and Activity Notices (Telecommunications Act Cth), Section 45 notices (Electricity Supply Act 1995), hoarding permits, awning permits, and other activities associated with development within Council Road Reserves.
    • Undertake site inspections to ensure compliance with permit conditions, Council's Engineering Guidelines and quality of works undertaken.
    • Investigate non-complaint development related worksites within Council's Road Reserves.

    What you will need to succeed:

    We are looking for someone with:

    • Qualifications relevant to the role e.g., Minimum Diploma of Civil Engineering.
    • Class C Driver's Licence.
    • General Construction Induction Training Card
    • SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Cards.
    • Demonstrated experience in civil construction and traffic management at worksites, reading and assessing site plans for developments and interpreting and administration of various acts, guidelines, regulations, and legislation.
