    Description

    The opportunity

    Randstad is currently assisting a large Federal Government Department and recruiting for an APS6 and EL1 Project Officer for a 12 months opportunity with a possibility of 12 months extension. You will be responsible in providing advice based upon the role of data in supporting and informing departmental activities.

    In your new role you will be responsible for -

    • Developing and costing a long-term plan to meet the objectives
    • Obtaining clearance and endorsement for the new strategy by senior leaders
    • Strategy release and promotion

    As an APS6 Project Support Officer, your key duties are

    • Assisting the Project Manager in planning and organising Data Strategy development activities, contract management, stakeholder management, procurement and assurance
    • Planning meetings and stakeholder workshops
    • Preparing agendas, writing minutes, supporting the chair at meetings
    • Coordinating document reviews and approvals
    • Providing input to reporting and briefing processes
    • Managing project information in the records management systems

    As EL1 Project Manager, your key duties are:

    • Planning and organising Data Strategy development activities
    • Stakeholder management
    • Contract management
    • Project assurance, managing risks and issues
    • Organising internal and inter-agency meetings and consultations.
    • Procuring resources as required
    • Preparing briefings, reports and other material for internal and external audiences, including senior leaders, and reviewing documents written by others
    • Promoting a positive team culture.

    To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate your:

    • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally working on Commonwealth projects
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong stakeholder relationship building and management skills
    • Understanding of the role of data in supporting and informing departmental activities.
