    The Role

    We are looking for a Technical Training Devices Manager to join our team in Bankstown.

    Reporting to the ACE-TC General Manager, you will be responsible for managing all technical oversight of Australia's only OEM Level D AW139 Full Flight Simulator and other aviation simulation training devices at the ACE-TC to ensure continued compliance with regulatory technical standards and equipment manufacturer maintenance requirements. With prior flight simulator technical experience, the Training Devices Technical Manager is an approved training devices technician capable of operating and maintaining training devices at the ACE-TC. As an expert in training technologies, the Training Devices Technical Manager develops and presents options for enhancing the training devices at the ACE-TC, and develops and delivers maintenance and operation training for ACE-TC training devices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and review procedures for the safe operation and maintenance of ACE-TC training devices
    • Monitor the technical integrity of training devices and report status to the ACE-TC GM and Head Office staff
    • Manage device operator effort to investigate training device defects, and gather and submit authoritative data and findings to contracted support organisations to support defect closure activities
    • Assist the Compliance Monitor Manager in the management and audit of qualified training device (eg. AW139 Full Flight Simulator) configuration and quality
    • Conduct device startup activities in preparation for training, and device shutdown procedures post training
    • Provide advice to the management team in relation to acquisition, delivery, certification, verification and validation of modifications to training devices
    • Direct the ongoing Full Flight Simulator standardisation and routine compliance fly out profiles
    • Review Qualification Test Guide and Acceptance Test results as the device operator representative
    • Prepare written submissions in relation to training device technologies for inclusion in Business Development opportunities

    Skills & Experience

    • Avionics qualification, with experience as an aircraft Simulator Technician or equivalent experience
    • A thorough knowledge of EASA and CASA regulations relevant to FSTDs
    • Maintenance manager for synthetic training devices
    • Strong ability to build relationships and influence
    • Strong judgment to identify and interpret issues and risks, and ability to escalate effectively and appropriately
    • A working knowledge of quality management systems, auditing processes and Risk Management techniques
    • Ability to achieve challenging goals and deliverables
    • Prepared for contingencies and drive to follow through and get results
    • Ability to work both autonomously and in a close team environment
