    Description

    Our client is an established dynamic New South Wales family-owned business supplying potatoes and onions (and other crops) for sale in major Australian supermarket chains and produce markets nationally. The business is experiencing high growth and provides a perfect opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on new challenges within their business.


    The full time Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer will be responsible for assisting in the operational management and improvement of farms to ensure maximum yields and quality is met. Responsible for the day-to-day management of a mixed crop and livestock farmer reporting to the General Manager (Farms). You will oversee the full ground preparation, planting, growing, and harvesting process and work in conjunction with our agronomy team, along with working with our livestock to ensure their recommendations and inputs are effective.

    Your Tasks:

    • Manage all operations associated with the crop growing season including:
    Pivot moving
    Ground preparation
    Planting
    Fertilizing
    Spraying
    Harvesting
    Grading

    • Inspection of pivots to apply the correct level of water for moisture of growing and harvesting crops.

    • Plan and carry out seeding, growing and harvesting.

    • Order parts for machinery repairs, ensuring competitive pricing.

    • Undertaking breeding and raising of livestock under the company program.

    • Maintain workplace, health and safety standards and to adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

    Your Skills and Experience:

    • You will have proven experience in the operational management of a mixed crop and livestock farm.

    • You will have good communication skills which will enable you to liaise with farm managers, agronomists and other team members.

    • You will possess strong attention to detail and have passion and pride in the quality of your work.

    • You must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

    Your Remuneration
    Salary range $65,000 - $90,000 + superannuation
