    Situated on a bustling street corner in Hawthorne, Sister Café is more than grabbing a quick bite. It is convenient place for morning commuters, lunchtime crowds and afternoon strollers. It is an intimate and versatile venue perfect for corporate meetings, private functions and parties. It has variety of selections that includes sandwiches, salads, burgers and many more.

    We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Chef to join our amazing kitchen team on full time basis.

    Location: Hawthorne, QLD

    Role: Full time

    Salary range: $ $80000 (depending upon the experience)

    Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

    • Oversee preparation, cooking, and serving of food dishes
    • Design special menu and presentation for catering order and special events
    • Calculate weekly kitchen labour costs, food costs and overall management of the kitchen
    • Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
    • Supervise and provide directions for kitchen staff
    • Ensure food safety of dishes served to guests with special dietaries (allergies, intolerances)
    • Manage inventory turnover and check quality of cooking materials
    • Ensure sufficient quantity and quality of food before serving
    • Revise, create and cost new and function menus on a seasonal basis
    • Collect and analyse financial data on menus, and report on specific outcomes and future trends
    • Create recipes for new sauces and dressings
    • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a fun & collaborative environment
    • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness & sanitation both personally and professionally

    Ideal Candidates

    • At least certificate IV in commercial cookery or equivalent in a related field.
    • Substantial Australian commercial cookery experience for at least 2 years or more
    • Fantastic time management & punctuality
    • Strong communication skills & ability to work well within a team environment
    • Strong leadership skills and decision making abilities
    • Have an attention to detail & passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences
    • Great understanding of HACCP & food safe procedures while having Food Safety Supervisor Cert
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage high volume functions.
