    Fitter & Turner - Cairns

    This role will be responsible for the Mechanical Maintenance support of machinery, equipment, site and services to achieve optimum production and customer service.
    In addition to all aspects of mechanical maintenance, the position is also responsible for ensuring safe work practices are achieved at all times and that company policies and practices are adhered to.

    The Maintenance Fitter – Day Shift role includes but is not limited to:

    • Disassembling, assessing, repairing and reassembling machines, equipment and components
    • Maintaining equipment condition and reliability so that company quality and safety targets can be achieved.
    • Understanding, supporting, promoting and complying with Production Management Systems.
    • Provide technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams.
    • Assist with ordering components and liaise with external stakeholders as necessary (with appropriate approval).
    • Complying with and practice of all safety protocols and ensuring that knowledge of procedures and safety education is current (including LOTO practices)
    • Play a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance practices.
    • Ensuring timely action and satisfactory completion of AM work as specified by OEMs.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • C8 Trade classification
    • Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, general fitting machining and possess excellent fault finding and troubleshooting
    • Able to work both independently and within a team.
    • Experienced in the use of CMMS and other maintenance/reliability tools and practices.
    • Available to work a reasonable amount of weekly overtime as required.
