    The Opportunity
    Our client is a prominent player in the Australian real estate sector, recognised as one of the largest privately owned businesses in Australia. They specialise in property development and investment and have an exciting newly created Senior Accountant position in their fastest growing division. This business unit promotes the group's commitment to strategic residential property management and the creation of appealing and sustainable living environments tailored to the needs of long-term residents. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in establishing and shaping financial processes within the division, setting the foundation for future growth and success.

    The Challenge
    Reporting to the Finance Director and partnering closely with senior operational leaders, this role will need to navigate seamlessly between delving into the detail while also being able to analyse financial outcomes and offer valuable commercial insights to the business.

    Specifically your responsibilities will include:

    • Preparation and completion of transactional, management accounting, and financial reporting tasks for the business unit.
    • Ensuring timely delivery of accurate and insightful financial information to support commercial decision-making.
    • Preparing and analysing monthly management reports.
    • Maintaining data integrity of the general ledger and ensuring financial information is compliant with accounting standards.
    • Collaborating closely with the operations team and other finance teams.
    • Conducting accounts payable processing and bank and trust account reconciliations.
    • Handling income recognition and GST/BAS return reconciliation and lodgements.
    • Managing month-end close processes and resident bonds.
    • Processing payment runs as needed

    The Expertise

    Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

    • CA or CPA qualified.
    • 5 plus years experience in accounting and finance roles, experience in property, hospitality, or related sectors would be a strong preference.
    • Proven track record of establishing and improving financial processes.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
    • Proficiency in navigating and using different platforms and technologies.
