This role is a 6-month contract opportunity, ideally commencing in June.Under the leadership of Partner Nick Thomas , you will join a busy and high performing team with a shared passion for the environment and a solutions-driven approach to working with our clients.
The role will see you working in a diverse range of situations on strategic and policy advice, major projects and transactions, litigation and dispute resolution.
You will work with clients who include Federal, State and local government agencies, as well as ASX100 listed and multinational corporations.
Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant experience in a broad range of Environment & Sustainable Development areas;Experience acting for government agencies and major corporations;Experience with project, transactional, litigation and dispute related work;A sound understanding of regulatory matters and strong client-facing capability;Strong reasoning capability and highly developed communication skills (written and oral);A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, counsel, junior lawyers and other parties.
In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter.Someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on delivering a high quality work product and an outstanding service to their clients.
The Environment & Sustainable Development TeamOur ESD team is rated as one of only three tier 1 teams in Australia, and has been recognised as the leading team in Australia.
We specialise in all areas of environment and planning law, as well as ESG, climate change, sustainability, water, energy, resources and regulated industry laws, as well as project-based land acquisition and access.
Our diverse work covers large scale development and infrastructure projects, major transactions, operational compliance, strategic and policy advice, incident management, litigation and inquiries.
