    About us

    Aurelia Metals is an Australian gold and base metals mining and exploration company with a highly strategic landholding, two operating mines, and two development projects in New South Wales (NSW).

    The Role

    The key objectives of this position are to optimise extraction of the known Federation resource through efficient, safe, and cost-effective mining operations. This will be done through ensuring safe systems, producing designs, and monitoring of progress in conjunction with the operations team. Other objectives are to determine the future direction of the Federation Mine in strategy, planning and design of underground mining in conjunction with the Management Team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all drill and blast designs, inlcuding:
      • Stoping and Vertical Development
      • Service holes – electrical & services reticulation, probe, pumping and drainage
    • Maintain databases and working electronic files
    • Services / Production interface
      • Represent the Technical Services team on a day-to day basis in the underground mine
      • Attend crew pre-shift meetings (D/S only) to capture technical issues, and report on issue resolutions
      • Provide guidance to operations as required
    • Support the Mining Manager and Mining Dept. in ensuring statutory compliance to Mines Regulations in New South Wales
    • Ensure adherence to all site policies and procedures, legislative requirements, and statutory obligations
    • Complete hazard reviews, incident investigations and be involved in risk assessments for daily activities and project work

    About You

    Drawing upon your proven experience as a Mining Engineer this will be complimented by your Tertiary Qualification in Engineering - Mining or Equivalent. We are looking to hear from applicants with:

    • Mining Engineering degree (or equivalent)
    • At least 2 years relevant experience, including Mine Ventilation, Drill and Blast, short term planning
    • Experience using Deswik software for design, D&B and scheduling
    • Exposure to and a willingness to contribute to and gain experience in mid-term planning and mine optimisation
    • Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) for site access purposes
    • Current unencumbered 'C' Class Driver's Licence
