    About the role
    Lead Systems Specialist VDI engineer is responsible for Planning, Implementation and support of desktop Virtualization technology. Your role is to provide support in delivering a high quality and modern employee experience. Provide mentoring through the development of Endpoint Platforms and to offshore and onshore team members.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Take ownership and support of Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Horizon environments.
    • Provide support for evergreen SOEs.
    • Collaborate with our project, architecture, SOE, and Infrastructure teams.
    • Be a thought leader and knowledge specialist in VDI.
    • Deliver organisational software lifecycle management policies and procedures.
    • Offer 3rd Level technical support to BAU and Operations teams when needed.
    • Stay ahead of cloud computing trends, evaluate emerging tools and services, and optimize cloud infrastructure efficiency.
    • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to provide essential infrastructure support for Priority One and Priority Two escalations.

    About you
    You will be a customer centric individual who is adaptable and who has previously worked in a Managed Services or in customer facing role. You will also have:

    • A minimum 10 years' experience with implementation and support of VDI technologies (Citrix, Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop), both on premises and cloud platforms.
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Azure and Intune cloud management technologies.
    • Experience working with authentication identity management solutions, specifically Active Directory and Entra (Azure Active Directory).
    • Strong Experience with Implementation and support of SOE.
    • Strong Experience in creating and maintaining VDI Golden Images and supporting them.
    • Strong Experience with the implementation and support of Citrix NetScalers.
    • Strong experience with understanding Networking concepts.
    • Experience in Windows 10 or Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2022 Systems Administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Patch Management.
    • Experience running a VDI environment hosted on a VMware and Azure / AWS platform.
    • Experience with Hypervisor technologies, including VMWare vSphere, Azure, and AWS and their associated networking components.
    • Application management and publishing via Intune and SCCM.
    • Strong expertise in platform automation scripting, particularly PowerShell.
    • Strong Experience to troubleshoot and resolve problems, and provide user support, as well as create reports and communicate to management support, as well as create reports and communicate to management.
    • Exposure to the processes of Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management.
    • Professional documentation skills for use in customer proposals, user training, and technical documents.
    • Good communication, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to deal with busy, high-pressured situations.
    • Proven ability to work within deadlines with minimum supervision.
