    Senior Controls Engineer

    We currently have an opportunity for a motivated and talented Senior Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Group based in Sydney.

    This position plays a leading role in the deployment of electrical control systems.
    This includes design, documentation, testing, and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software.

    The position also provides substantial opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfill the work requirements.


    Key responsibilities of the position include:
    Development of functional specificationsConformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all workPreparation of electrical schematic drawings, PLC programs, and configuration of operator interfacesPreparation of manufacturing and installation specificationsPlanning and supervision of major controls installationsManaging the procurement of parts, the manufacture of cabinets, and the electrical installationControls project cost controlTesting and commissioning on customer sitesPreparation of test plans and operator & technical manualsTraining of client personnel and providing customer supportHanding over projects to our Customer Service teamWhat we offer:

    Key skills, qualifications, and attributes include:Degree qualified in an Engineering or scientific disciplineIdeal role for those with 7+ years experience in electrical design and installationSound knowledge of requirements of AS3000 & AS4024.1Experience in machine control, safety, and functional safety principlesKnowledge of materials handling system controlsExperience in writing technical documentationKnowledge of configuration, programming, and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners, and safety devicesExperience in managing installation crewsWillingness to travel during the installation and commissioning phase of a project within Australia and occasionally overseasAbility to work in a project-based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering teamOur ideal candidate will have a professional manner and display a dedication to providing a high-quality output as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure in business-critical environments.
