Senior Health & Safety Advisor

As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will assist in the development of the Project ES&H Management Program and associated supporting documentation. Implementing and ensuring compliance of work contractors to the project-level ES&H management program, you will provide assistance to project and construction management with project ES&H requirements and in addressing ES&H issues during Project execution.

Your duties will include:

1. Assist in the development of the Project ES&H Management Program and associated supporting documentation.
2. Implementing and ensuring compliance of work contractors to the project-level ES&H management program.
3. Providing assistance to project and construction management in implementing and complying with project ES&H requirements and in addressing ES&H issues as they arise during Project execution.
4. Coordinate with and provide technical assistance to other project-assigned functional leads (e.g., engineering, subcontracts, procurement, project controls) with regards to compliance with Project-specific ES&H requirements.
5. Attend and participate in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of ES&H requirements.
6. Provide technical support and assistance directly to construction supervision and subcontractors in planning and executing field activities in accordance with the Project ES&H requirements.
7. Provide support in comprehensive project ES&H planning, safety and health specific plans, project specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.
8. Conduct safety assessments/inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with ES&H requirements including contractual commitments, laws and regulations, and the Project's ES&H plan.
9. Work with construction personnel to develop risk assessments, JHA's and project specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area preferred. Diverse experience in ES&H role. Experience working in construction and mining industry. Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations, compliance audits and project health surveys is preferred. Proficiency in conducting ES&H training programs. Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis. Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications. Excellent written and oral communication. General Construction Safety Induction (White Card) Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training preferred.
