    About the Role

    The role of the Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) is to assist in the clinical management of patients and undertake clinical duties for the respective work area. HMOs will be working under the direct supervision of Senior Clinicians and Specialist, Term Supervisors and a supportive team of registrars. The HMO will also be supported by the Director of Clinical Training.

    The HMO role suits someone who is keen to further enhance their clinical and procedural skills, in a vibrant learning environment in various specialities. Rotations are available including Emergency Medicine, Surgery (including General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics), Paediatrics, Internal Medicine (General Medicine, Cardiology, Medical Oncology) and Mental Health. Rotations will be tailored for the successful applicant.

    Career pathways beyond the prevocational years are also available in key specialties supported by Albury Wodonga Health. AWH is supportive of prevocational doctors and have programs in place to help them further their training in the dedicated specialty training pathway locally.

    We are a diverse and supportive organisation and have a dedicated supportive IMG program in place. If you are an IMG, you will need to have completed your AMC part 1 and English Proficiency Test prior to application.
