    About the Team & the Position

    The Digital Division is accountable to operate, maintain, and deliver digital capabilities for all of AEMO to ensure AEMO fulfills its obligations across all jurisdictions and markets in which AEMO operates. This includes strategic technology foresight and plans, delivery of digital change, operation of critical infrastructure, key internal stakeholder engagement as well as operation of all of AEMO's IT applications and services.

    You may be involved in the planning, execution, and delivery of testing across multiple areas. This includes supporting major programs, lifecycle projects, and critical operational activities. This role requires exceptional technical skills to perform the role of a trusted technical advisor and a subject matter expert on testing requirements, test planning, test execution and results management.

    This role is also accountable for driving improvements on the tools and testing processes commonly used by the team, ensuring that test automation and process improvements continue to evolve.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Ensure WA Market Systems are compliant with the Wholesale Electricity Market and Gas Services Information Rule requirements.
    • Ensure project and/or software release test strategy documents are designed to apply available resources effectively and efficiently whilst minimising risk.
    • Ensure project and/or software release test plans align with the requirements of the business with respect to functionality, process, security, and compatibility.
    • Make sure project and/or software release test data suites align with the coverage requirements of the test plans and test strategies.
    • Verify test environments are configured to allow completion of functional, regression and user acceptance testing.
    • Ensure project and/or release test plans are executed, and issues are logged and tracked in a defect management system.
    • Make sure project timelines are met whilst balancing the appropriate levels of test coverage versus risk
    • Ensure issues and risks are proactively escalated to stakeholders and management, supporting an informed decision-making process.
    • Collaborate with AEMO Support teams to ensure operational readiness activities are completed including capability uplift, handover, and regression test suites for BAU

    Position Requirements

    Skills & Experience:

    • Strong understanding of the principles and practices associated with the testing of information technology projects.
    • Experience in developing the test strategies and plans in IT projects and successful execution of these plans
    • Experience in leading IT projects and demonstrated working knowledge on estimating and scheduling.
    • Experience engaging with Business Analysts, Product Owners and Developers to analyse requirements and understand complex systems.
    • Experience with developing user documentation and process maps
    • A high level of proficiency with SQL and testing web based/client-server applications, APIs and data migration.
    • Proficiency with automation tools such Playwright/Selenium and Postman.
    • Experience with test automation preferably C# or JavaScript, and proficiency with source control tools
    • Experience with test management tools such as Jira and PractiTest

    Education/ professional Certifications:

    • Tertiary level qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Professional level certification (ISTQB or similar)
