    We're looking for a Lead Control System Engineer to join our team at our Melbourne Depot in Braeside, Victoria.

    About this job:

    Aggreko seeks a Lead Control System Engineer to provide strategic oversight of our control and SCADA platforms across the APAC region. This role demands a leader with a strong background in control systems, operational experience, and exceptional organisational skills.

    The ideal candidate will be an energy transition enabler responsible for maintaining operational excellence, ensuring cyber security compliance, refining roles, and responsibilities, and managing the lifecycle of control systems.

    As the Lead Control System Engineer, you'll guide our control and SCADA team within the Engineering department and work alongside Aggreko's system designers across the APAC region and globally. Your role will be pivotal in upholding best practices and industry standards for control platforms and design and operation documentation.

    Working with advanced bespoke and off-the-shelf power system control systems, you will work closely with Aggreko's global controls development team and be exposed to a diverse range of market sectors and applications.

    Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee and manage control platforms in APAC, focusing on operational performance, defect management, team capabilities, continuous improvement, risk, and financial aspects.
  • Lead the development of innovative software and hardware to elevate infrastructure control capabilities.
  • Provide input in site design and commissioning to ensure standards are met and facilitate a smooth and continuously improving transition to operations.
  • Support operations, manage risk, and ensure compliance with controls, cyber security standards, and working practices, including change management.
  • Define processes for decommissioning and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage the control systems ecosystem.
  • Develop and communicate a roadmap for the control platform, considering lifecycle management, feature improvements, customer operation enhancements, and efficiency drives.
  • Success Factors:

  • Solid background in control systems with operational experience.
  • Strong administration skills, highly organised in change management, documentation, planning, and communication.
  • Proven ability to engage with operations and stakeholders on change requirements throughout the lifecycle of each site.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in control systems management and architecture, with a focus on operational performance.
  • Competence in platforms such as CODESYS, PlantSCADA/Citect and RSLogix.
  • Proficient in network design and remote access infrastructure, with a good grasp of IP networking, VLANs, and routing.
  • Expertise in crafting and implementing software and hardware solutions for control infrastructures.
  • Deep understanding of cyber security standards and risk management in control systems.
  • Stellar communication skills, capable of liaising effectively across various organisational levels.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
