    Description

    Our client is a multinational insurer looking for an actuarial manager join their reserving team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain actuarial reserving processes to comply with regulatory requirements and best practices
    • Development and review of monitoring processes to support the reserving function
    • Collaborating with underwriting, finance and claims to gather relevant insights for reserving
    • Maintain loss projection models for premium liabilities
    • Responsible for preparing regulatory reporting deliverables
    • Engaging with external auditors and reviewing actuaries
    • Supporting the finance team to report insurance liabilities under Australian and US GAAP
    • Maintaining suitable financial projections for the business
    • Supporting capital management processes for the ICAAP
    • Undertaking ad hoc investigations into specific areas or topics of interest where actuarial advice is to be provided
    • Assisting with the continued evolution of business processes
    • Foster development of junior members of the actuarial team

    About You:

    • Qualified or nearly qualified Fellow with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia or equivalent body
    • Strong knowledge of actuarial valuation techniques and processes, with a view on best practices
    • Strong technical and analytical skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel skills
    • Robust inter-personal skills and willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team
    • Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience within general insurance
    • Experience in LMI would be highly regarded but is not essential
