    HOPE has been a community service in Western Australia for over a century, providing much needed support to people affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental ill-health, youth justice issues and socioeconomic disadvantage.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a School Leavers Coordinator to join the team The position is part time, working 2.5 days per week.

    About the Opportunity

    As the School Leavers Coordinator, you will have you will have the responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of the School Leavers program as required. This includes the strategic, operational, and administrative elements of the program. Other responsibilities will include direct liaison with WAPOL and other service providers. Other responsibilities will include assessing and meeting the programs needs through the recruitment, placement, and retention of volunteers for the School Leavers Program.

    As the School Leavers Coordinator, you will have responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of the School Leaver program, including staff, resources, volunteers, managing stakeholder relationships, development of policy and procedures, data management and recording.

    Requirements of the Role:

    • Work with HR to develop and update volunteer policy, procedure and process.
    • Recruit, orientate and train volunteers for the School Leavers program
    • Oversee and manage the School Leavers Program at the direction of the General Manager Metropolitan.
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist in locating new funding opportunities and complete grant applications for the School Leavers and Street Outreach program.
    • Responsibility for the recruitment of casual, permanent and volunteer staff as required.
    • Provide training, mentoring and regular supervision to workers and volunteers within the School Leavers and Street Outreach program.

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role preferably in a non-for-profit organisation.

    • Confidence in managing difficult situations.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Current knowledge of and commitment to Equal Opportunity in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
    • Current knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health issues.

    Appointments will be subject to Australian residency/visa, satisfactory National Police check (within 3 months), Working With Children card, Current C or A class driver's license, First Aid Certificate, and suitable work referees.
