    Who We Are

    Cox Purtell, in partnership with a leading technology-driven government agency, is looking for Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer who will manage our Mid-range Unix Infrastructure, mentor junior infrastructure engineers, and provide technical leadership to application teams.

    What You Will Do

    The Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate with various teams and vendors to assess, plan, and implement infrastructure enhancements, focusing on security, efficiency, and innovation through automation. This role will involve active participation in incident response and problem management, ensuring effective resolution of complex issues, along with supporting security monitoring and implementing improvements. Additionally, the Engineer will play a key role in fostering the professional development of junior team members and contributing to the resilience and reduction of technical debt in our Mid-range infrastructure. In addition, the Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the following:

    • Collaborate with teams and vendors for infrastructure improvements, patching, and upgrades.
    • Support ISM compliant secure Mid-range Unix infrastructure platforms.
    • Participate in incident response, problem management, and security monitoring.
    • Mentor junior engineers, understand business continuity requirements, and support formal change management processes.
    • Occasionally support after-hours scheduled work or be part of the Unix Operations team on-call roster system.

    Who You Are

    • Technical experience required are the following:
      • Unix/Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Solaris/AIX)
      • IBM Power, Oracle SPARC
      • Red Hat OpenStack/OpenShift, High Availability Clustering
      • Ansible Automation Platform, RedHat Satellite
    • Experience with detailed technical documentation.
    • Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines.
    • Demonstrated expertise with Red Hat Ansible automation, Pacemaker, Satellite, and Identity Manager.
    • Experience with Virtualization platforms (IBM Power, VMware, OpenStack, Oracle SPARC).
    • Relevant certifications such as RHCA, RHCE, or Oracle Solaris Administration Certification are preferred but no required.
    • Must be an Australian Citizen with NV1 clearance.
