    APS5 Security Vetting Analyst

    Contract until June 30, 2025 with potential for extension| Canberra Location | $59.20 per hour plus 11% superannuation

    INSIGHT

    Our esteemed Federal Government partner is actively searching for a skilled Security Vetting Analyst to join their squad at the APS5 tier. In this position, you will be responsible for executing security clearance procedures primarily at the Negative Vetting Level 2 and occasionally at Baseline and Negative Vetting Level 1.

    YOUR ROLES

    • Follow security clearance protocols as per the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and departmental procedures using the entity's electronic case management system for Baseline, Negative Vetting Level 1, and Negative Vetting Level 2 clearances.
    • Offer expert guidance on clearance decisions and be open to feedback.
    • Evaluate and oversee intricate vetting clearances, including crafting denial reports meticulously.
    • Conduct Quality Assurance on clearance cases managed by other Vetting Analysts, ensuring sound judgments and defensible recommendations align with PSPF and departmental standards.
    • Supervise a security clearance workload in collaboration with an outsourced service provider (OSP) to ensure set benchmarks are achieved.
    • Operate within tight deadlines and effectively handle heavy work volumes.
    • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities, along with the skill to interact well with individuals undergoing clearance from various backgrounds.
    • Undertake additional support or vetting responsibilities as instructed by Assistant Director Vetting or Director SCV.
    EXPERIENCE / PREREQUISITES
    • Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting) Compulsory.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication proficiencies.
    • Capability to function effectively independently or in a team setting.
    • Aptitude to work with minimal supervision.
    • Competency in managing conflicting priorities.
    • Adherence to APS Values and Code of Conduct.
