- Look after new business development and account management of existing customers and suppliers
- Manage risk in dynamic market (price, credit, market availability, diversification, quality, and logistics
- Manage internal process (logistics, customer service, export documentation, credit management) required to execute buying and selling
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of customer and supplier production volumes, requirements, processes, and quality procedures and provide guidance to internal stakeholders
- Solid prior experience in a similar role as Trading Manager
- Strong knowledge of metals and minerals trading
- Understanding of global commodity markets and international shipping/logistics
- You are a great communicator, enabling you to form strong relationships with stakeholders on all levels
- You are highly motivated enjoy being accountable with a real "Can do attitude"

The Opportunity:
Visy is a global leader in packaging and resource recovery and has been a pioneer in sustainability since our inception. Our innovation, manufacturing and logistic capabilities are organised around an integrated closed loop.
Reporting to the Senior Trading Manager and based at our office in Essendon Fields, you will be responsible for all aspects of each trade or deal – from identifying trading opportunities, purchasing at the best possible price, helping to identify and use best shipping rates, ensuring the material traded meets agreed specification to generate the best possible trading margin.
This is a permanent full-time position joining our small, inclusive, and highly knowledgeable team whilst contributing to our significant growth plans. There will also be some international travel.
The Role
In this role your focus will be, but not limited to buying and selling metals and minerals. You will have a deep understanding of Global markets, Grades and detailed technical aspects around the grades and end uses. There is a clear focus on sales, so it would be hugely advantageous if you have a well-established international network to leverage off already.
