    Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) is committed to fostering economic development, cultural preservation, and the well-being of the Kokatha people.

    We are looking for a dynamic and skilled General Manager - Finance and Risk to support our operations and growth.

    This critical, senior management role encompasses financial management, risk management, and strategic leadership to advance KAC's mission.
    Key Responsibilities

    Facilitate the transfer of corporate management skills to staff within KAC and its subsidiaries to build capability within the Corporation and support a teams-based approach.

    Working closely with external accountancy and auditor services, provide financial advice and reporting to the KAC Board of Directors and CEO.

    Identify and mitigate financial, safety, or security risks to the organization.
    Develop and implement a series of business improvement initiatives.
    Manage and build internal corporate services capacity for all business accounting functions, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
    Assist in the development and oversight of budgets, managing financial delegations within the corporation.

    Oversee the management of assets, document, and records management systems, statutory reporting, and manage the KAC vehicle fleet and travel arrangements.

    Ensure compliance with Workers Compensation requirements, manage Board fees and expenses, and oversee payments to consultants and external providers.
    About You
    Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    Demonstrated success in driving organisational change, with extensive experience in financial management within a small/medium business environment.
    Strong understanding of risk management principles and proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
    Proven ability to maintain accurate financial records and reporting, supported by relevant accounting qualifications.
    High level of motivation, discretion, and integrity, with the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a current Driver's License, satisfactory National Police Clearance, and other relevant clearances.
    Effective collaboration with Indigenous staff and members, with a deep understanding of the issues important to the Kokatha people.
    Outstanding organisational skills, with the capacity to meet deadlines and manage pressures effectively.
