    About the OPPORTUNITY

    We have an opportunity for a Site Maintenance Electrical Technician to join our team based at our Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.

    You will be responsible for:

    As a Site Maintenance Electrical Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance of the shipyard facilities to satisfy the legislative and project requirements. The role is principally one of technical support. It involves the exercise of support and repair judgement within broad and often undefined parameters in the overall interests of the project and in full cognisance of the likely effect on the support activities as a whole.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Provide expert electrical (Hands on) services to projects.
    • Development and/or preparation of accurate technical documentation including test procedures and reports.
    • Provide input to planning and maintenance of schedules.
    • Management and prioritisation of resources to meet company and client expectations.
    • Ensure consumables and recommended spares are on hand or a process has been established to enable timely procurement.

    About YOU

    • Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (essential).
    • Strong experience in maintaining, installing and troubleshooting Electrical and pneumatic systems, computerised maintenance systems and automated welding.
    • Training and experience managing and maintaining facilities and equipment in complex precision production environment.
    • Experience and trained for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting facilities and Industrial multi-system Production Equipment including complex control systems, sensors, actuators, electric/pneumatic/hydraulic drives, motor pumps, vacuum systems and robotic welding.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Cert IV Trade based qualifications in Electrical/Electronic or Equivalent. Meets the requirements for registration as Chartered Officer of the Institute of Engineers and preferably be a member of a professional body.
    • Experience in facilitating a production environment through the implementation of preventative and routine maintenance and operation of Facility resources and equipment.
