    The Company
    Cotton Seed Distributors Ltd (CSD) was formed in 1967 shortly after the commencement of the Australian cotton industry for the purposes of promoting the development of agricultural resources. CSD's core mantra continues to be the development and supply of quality cotton seed to Australian growers. CSD is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and has grower and industry members and a Board of grower elected members plus independent appointed directors.

    Through continuously investing in the research and development of new cotton seed varieties, developing agronomic tools and digital applications to support growers, CSD has partnerships with CSIRO under the Cotton Breeding Australia (a targeted research fund set up to facilitate the research and development of future cotton varieties for Australian growers) and other leading global companies and institutions to ensure Australian growers have timely access to the world's best technologies. Their processing, R&D, farming, and head office facilities are based at Wee Waa in Northwest NSW.

    The Position
    Reporting to the CEO and acting as their 2IC, the Chief Financial Officer is an integral member of the CSD leadership team, playing a strategic and collaborative role to promote, influence and espouse company values and ethics while leading all accounting functions and compliance. Working closely with the CEO and Board, you will initiate strategies to improve business performance, ensure compliance, accounting efficiencies, and maximise investment returns. Your role also encompasses collaborating with specialist HR, IT and WHS.

    Always accountable for financial compliance but working strategically, ultimately you will assist the business make well informed decisions to improve profitability for the long term.

    The Person
    We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following key skills and experience:

    • Proven experience working closely with a CEO on strategy, business performance profitability
    • History of analysing financial data and providing insights to inform strategic decisions
    • A connection or exposure to agriculture will be highly regarded
    • Exceptional accounting experience with a deep knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
    • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance including CA or CPA (essential)
    • Experience with organisational change and growth
    • An exceptional people leader able to positively develop and contribute to company culture
    • Strong work ethic
    • Experience with IT, HR and WHS highly regarded

    A unique, exciting, and challenging opportunity based in their production facilities in Wee Waa (most staff live in Narrabri). You will work in an environment highly connected to farmers and the broader agriculture community. They will consider a hybrid CFO, needing to be in Narrabri/Wee Waa (northern NSW) 1.5 weeks per month which includes Board meeting.
