    The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

    About the role

    The Manager, Emergency Response Programs will review CAV's emergency preparedness across various areas of the agency including communications, information and advice and advocacy services to improve the design and timeliness of CAV's responses to emerging events. The role will also improve the integration and coordination of these responses across government and the broader service network. This role will manage existing funded emergency programs and develop new ones in response to emerging issues,. While based within the Funded Services team, the Manager, Emergency Response Programs will manage CAV's relationship with Emergency Recovery Victoria and any other coordinating departments or agencies and play a lead role coordinating efforts across all of CAV.

    Key Accountabilities include:

    • Review CAV's emergency preparedness and coordinate responses to new emergency related issues across CAV's operations.
    • Develop and manage emergency recovery programs including the preparation of funding bids, program establishment, performance monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
    • Coordinate CAV's response to emergency events including collaboration with operational leads and external stakeholders
    • Initiate and effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other government departments and funded agencies to ensure effective project delivery and achievement of strategic outcomes.

    About you

    To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

    • Experience in managing program delivery to achieve organisational objectives.
    • A sound understanding of the community programs delivered in Victoria by the not-for-profit sector is desirable.
