An exciting opportunity exists to join us in the capacity of School Community Partnership Facilitator (Identified).
You will develop, connect and engage with key school, family and community stakeholders to inform local place-based action plans for shared outcomes as part of the Equity and Excellence Partnership initiative targeting tailored and differentiated support to regional, rural and remote Queensland state school sites.
This is a temporary full time position based at Kowanyama State School.Kowanyama means "place of many waters" in the Yir Yoront language.
The community includes the Kokoberra, Yir Yoront (or Kokomenjen) and Kunjen clans, who each have language and other cultural differences.

Our school is a Kindy - Year 10 remote indigenous community school on the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland with an enrolment of approximately 220 students.
Situated 600km North West of Cairns the community of approximately 1200 people is isolated during the wet season each year.
Access to the school and community at this time is only by plane.During the dry season (latter half of the year) vehicle access can occur, but only if the roads are passable.
This isolation has an impact on student mobility during the year.Role:
Responsibilities include:
Manage key relationships to enhance planning and service delivery processes.
Proven ability to prioritise, schedule and perform work to meet deadlines, commitments and client service standards.
Ability to participate in a work team and to undertake a variety of project activities.
Develop and maintain working relationships with the local, regional, state, commonwealth and local government officers and local peak bodies to prepare and provide timely information and advice to stakeholders in relation to future planning for the delivery of services in line with government policy.
Access and analyse information sources such as demographic data, community data, regional development plans, local government planning documents, recommendations and papers to inform planning and coordination advice and support.
Mandatory Requirements for and IdentifiedRole:
It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
