    About the opportunity

    The Clinical Simulation Nurse assists in providing high quality support for all simulation and skills training operations at FMH Clinical Simulation Education. The focus of this role is to enhance the student experience and complement the learning and clinical practice aspects of the curriculum. The position is responsible for provides clinical, technical and administrative support for the staff and students within the Clinical Simulation Studios. They will assist the manager to ensure that the simulated learning environment is maintained and functioning as required and that the relevant Work, Health and Safety (WHS) standards of the work area are met and are aligned to the University's WHS policy.

    Resolves routine problems relating to the delivery of efficient and effective Clinical education Sessions and services on a timely basis, escalating issues to supervisor when required. Problems that cannot be resolved or are outside the scope of their key accountabilities are referred to the Clinical Skills & Simulation Coordinator for guidance and/or resolution.

    This primary location of this role will be at Camperdown, Susan Wakil Health Building

    Your key responsibilities will be

    • assist and support the clinical simulation Studios facilities
    • provide clinical and technical support to academics, students and other technical staff working in and using the clinical simulation environment
    • resource Management including monitoring stock levels of equipment through regular stock-taking and inventory management
    • assist the Manager to coordinate the reporting and documentation including WHS, equipment maintenance and workspace requests, for the clinical simulation environment
    • Undertakes ad-hoc projects and other activities

    About you

    • at least 6 months of experience working in Relevant clinical fields, preferably with experience in demonstrating specialist simulation equipment and technology
    • sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within the clinical simulation environment with well-rounded experience in implementing safety procedures relevant to the simulated environment
    • sound working understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Workplace Health and Safety Policy and relevant legislation
    • ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
