  • Salary: $93,592 - $106,297 p.a. plus 11% Super
  • Permanent / Full-time

  • About the role This is a permanent full-time position, working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm) and is located at Bomaderry. The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Duties Reporting directly to the Lead - Land Management, the focus of this position is to:
  • Manage the delivery of Council's Bushcare program in accordance with NSW legislation, Council policies and plans and to integrate Bushcare with other natural resource management programs undertaken by Council.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of Bushcare volunteers, including Bushcare, Dunecare and similar groups), Council's Bushcare staff and contractors in the delivery of natural area management.
  • Foster broad community involvement in, and awareness of, the Bushcare program. Work with Council's Natural Area staff to communicate the importance of protecting and improving natural areas and how this can be achieved.
  • Ensure Council's Bushcare program is delivered in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental standards.
  • Maximise the Bushcare program outcomes by maintaining and developing partnerships with other community groups, government agencies and organisations
  • Apply for and manage grant funding to implement Bushcare Program action plans.
  • Skills & Experience To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
  • Degree or other qualifications relevant to the duties of the position
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a related field
  • Experience in the rehabilitation, restoration, and maintenance of natural areas.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing effective contracts and grants.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in management of natural areas
  • Ability to formulate and review policies, procedures and site action plans
  • Ability to support, influence and coordinate people to work collaboratively to achieve mutually agreed outcomes.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (Visa)
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
