    Description

    The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Student Assistant performs daily tasks throughout the ILL department, processes Interlibrary Loan requests using the Tipasa software system, and tracks unclaimed loans and shipped items. The student may also assist with additional projects for the ILL or Circulation department. Interlibrary Loan is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday.

    Duties

    • Processes incoming and outgoing book article requests
    • Shelves, retrieves, and transports books and other print materials
    • Package and ships outgoing library materials
    • Processes and checks in incoming materials
    • Performs light clerical work
    • Scans and distributes articles to other libraries using Tipasa or email
    • Performs circulation duties: checks in and out library materials, headphones, cables, etc.
    • Performs light cleaning of 5th-floor workstation
    • Shelves returns

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Basic computer skills and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task and work independently under minimal supervision.
