    The Role
    Our industry-leading Brisbane Civil Section requires a high-performing, experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team as a Group Manager. This role includes leading civil engineering on projects and direct management of a team of engineers. You will be responsible for managing resourcing, career development and overseeing financial performance of projects. You will also have input into the strategic direction of the Civil Section working closely with our Brisbane Civil Principal.

    Based in our recently expanded Brisbane Office, you will be joining a fast-paced, busy team and will enjoy operating with an appropriate level of autonomy. You will also have the opportunity and empowerment to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Section – through developing new systems and tools, building our technical capability and helping our people reach their full potential.

    As part of our established team, your proven experience in Built Form Projects and strong hands-on design skills relating to roads, bulk earthworks, storm water drainage and WSUD, Sewer and Water reticulation will be complemented by the ability to effectively manage and communicate project requirements. To succeed in this role, you will be experienced in multi-discipline project delivery and be able to communicate with project Stakeholders.

    The Candidate

    With 8+ years' experience, and RPEQ/CPEng certified you are keen for the next challenge in your career. You will be used to running your own projects with minimal supervision - ideally within the range of $10-$150m. Experience in building projects such as commercial, high-rise, schools, health, industrial, retail and institutional is essential.

    • 8+ years of proven local experience as a competent consulting engineer, with experience in preparing design and documentation of civil such as earthworks, intersections, storm water, drainage and sewer
    • The ability to manage multiple projects and goals at the same time, whilst working autonomously
    • Someone who works well with people, and gets joy out of developing junior staff and seeing them succeed
    • Understanding of SEQ regulatory frameworks and statuary compliance requirements
    • Proven experience within built form and experience with civil design packages, AutoCAD, 12D, Drains and MUSIC.
    • Excellent communication skills - able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly
    • Experience working directly with clients, attending meetings and delegating work
    • Creative problem solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles
    • Strong team ethic to work collaboratively across functional groups
