    Newton Moore Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Gardener - Handypersons for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term

    As a Gardener - Handyperson, suitable applicants will work to provide gardening, grounds, and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive clean and tidy condition and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management.

    In this role you will help perform maintenance and light repairs. The role also includes performing routine landscaping on the school grounds. In this role you will maintain tools, help stocktake and ensure equipment is in a serviceable condition and provide advice and support to the Manager Corporate Services on school grounds and maintenance.

    Suitable applicants should display effective communication skills, be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and external stakeholders and ideally be able to work unsupervised, with the ability to identify and recognise work that is required to be completed. You should also be well organised, have attention to detail, a positive outlook and be a team player.
