    Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures

    Bell Textron Australia is a helicopter maintenance organisation with facilities in Coffs Harbour, NSW and Redcliffe, QLD. We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures to join our team.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Maintain the highest possible standard in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as Civil Aviation Regulations.
    • Evaluate aircraft to ensure they meet relevant and current Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
    • Perform tasks and duties according to Bell Textron Australia Policies and Procedures.
    • Optimise workflow on assigned jobs, ensuring minimal disruptions through effective use of allocated manpower and resources.
    • Complete aircraft work packs and log book entries in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
    • Raise AMRs at time of identification of additional work, ensuring accuracy.
    • Track progress of work to maintain budgetary control.
    • Provide guidance to apprentices to assist them in meeting budgets and delivery schedules.
    • Implement corrective action to correct project overruns.
    • Contribute to parts ordering for assigned projects, ensuring parts are available to meet scheduled delivery times.
    • Regularly review project documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
    • Provide input into customer queries and/or complaints.

    Key Result Areas:

    Quality, Safety and Environment:

    • Maintain aircraft under their control in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Participate in the development and revision of company procedures for continuous improvement.
    • Actively participate in the company's WH & S program.
    • Actively participate in the company safety management system.
    • Manage apprentices, providing clear directions for maintenance or modification of aircraft allocated to them.

    Commercial Management:

    • Manage and control aircraft assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Ensure adequate resources are available for timely completion of allocated maintenance and projects.
    • Order spare parts in a timely manner to meet project deadlines while maintaining an appropriate cost structure within MRO.
    • Review job packs for assigned projects, ensuring they are complete and reflect customer requirements.
    • Monitor daily reporting on estimated versus actual hours and take corrective action to prevent overruns.
    • Request AMRs for additional work through the Engineering Services department.
    • Closed jobs are provided to Engineering Services for processing of log books and invoices at project completion.

    Sales and Customer Management:

    • Provide regular feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on progress of planned maintenance.
    • Contribute to responses to customer queries and complaints.

    Regulatory and Compliance:

    • Maintain aircraft under their control in accordance with Civil Aviation regulations for VH registered aircraft or equivalent regulations for foreign registered aircraft.
    • Record and notify any inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous procedure, practice information or maintenance instruction contained in maintenance data used by maintenance personnel to the Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Demonstrate good judgment and efficiency in the use of company resources.
    • Ensure personal conduct aligns with the Employee Handbook and Employee Code of Conduct & Business Ethics.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Required:

    • Experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility performing structural repairs, heavy maintenance, and modifications.
    • Understanding of Aviation regulatory requirements and standards for Aircraft maintenance.
    • Basic computer literacy in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and Microsoft suite.
    • Structural repair and modification experience on aircraft within the scope of the Bell Textron Australia CAR 30 and Part 145 certificates.
    • Previous experience in an organisation similar in scope and size to Bell Textron Australia.
