The Inclusive Education Division is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer to join the Health Wellbeing Inclusion and Resilience Unit.
The Senior Policy Officer role will design and implement statewide policies and projects relating to student health and wellbeing.The role will be responsible for reviewing and updating policies, project planning, stakeholder engagement and design and testing of solutions and resources to enable effective policy implementation.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate with a range of audiences, identify and implement practice and policy requirements and ensure systems and processes are embedded to evaluate the implementation of policies relating to health and wellbeing.
Being able to think and plan at a strategic level as well as at the implementation level is vital for this role.

The Health Wellbeing Inclusion and Resilience Unit leads health and wellbeing portfolios that strengthen the quality of practice and service delivery of health, wellbeing and inclusion workforces, including the strategic, policy and programmatic oversight of the Student Support Services and the Visiting Teacher Service.

The Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for:
reviewing and developing statewide policies and guidance resources relating to health and wellbeing of students
developing and managing project management plans, timelines, milestones and risk mitigation
work collaboratively with stakeholders across the department to ensure guidance documents and resources are evidence-based and provide a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to enhance service delivery
setting up systems to evaluate the effectiveness of implementation of policies
developing and delivering communication strategies to effectively communicate new and updated policies
identify potential risks associated with implementation of policies relating to health and wellbeing and mitigate these in a policy context
fulfilling a range of governance and coordination functions that include secretariat duties, liaising with executive and allied health audiences
draft and deliver a wide range of communications including briefings, correspondence and speaking notes
